Vittoriale degli Italiani, monumental citadel built on the shores of Lake Garda as the home of the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio, who lived there from 1921 to 1938. It was designed by the architect Giancarlo Maroni and since 1925 it has been a national monument, a destination of interest for tourists and Not. Il Vittoriale extends for about nine hectares on the hills of Gardone Riviera in a panoramic position overlooking the lake. After passing the entrance and taking the road towards the prioria, you come across the Piave pillar with the sculpture of the chained Victory by the sculptor Arrigo Minerbi, the Pilo of Giving in a pitcher, that is to hit the mark, hit the mark. On the left is the Parlaggio, the amphitheater designed by Maroni between 1931 and 1938, whose work was only completed in 1953, however, leaving it unfinished.
