Religious architecture: Salò Cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Annunziata, represents the most valuable architectural work, designed by Filippo delle Vacche in the late Gothic style, but never fully completed. Inside, it houses paintings by Romanino, Moretto, Zenone Veronese, and Paolo Veneziano. Antonio Vassilacchi, known as Aliense, painted several frescoes, while the high altar features an imposing gilded altarpiece containing ten wooden statues by Pietro Bussolo. The Palazzo Terzi-Martinengo in Barbarano was later embellished with the marble portal created by Tamagnino and Gasparo Cairano in 1509.
