Salò, detached villa in the center with large garden
- 630,000€
Description
Salò, a detached villa in a central location, a 5-minute walk from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and the lake.
The lot on which the villa was built measures approximately 750 square meters, of which 350 square meters are occupied by the building, while the remaining 400 square meters are dedicated to a garden and olive grove, which could accommodate a generously sized swimming pool.
The villa is structured on three levels:
Basement with cellar, utility room, laundry room, and another room, totaling 98 square meters. Outside, there is a comfortable porch of approximately 40 square meters;
Mezzanine floor with eat-in kitchen, living room with access to a 10 square meter terrace, entrance hall, 3 bedrooms, bathroom, and hallway, totaling 130 square meters, excluding the terrace;
Top floor consisting of an attic.
Built in the 1950s, the building enjoys an exceptional location, considering its complete independence and the neighborhood’s predominantly semi-detached houses. It boasts a large garden, unique in the area, and is just a short distance from the lake and the various amenities offered by the town center.
Salò, monuments and places of interest:
Religious architecture: Salò Cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Annunziata, represents the city’s most valuable architectural work. Designed by Filippo delle Vacche in the late Gothic style, it was never fully completed. Inside, it houses paintings by Romanino, Moretto, Zenone Veronese, and Paolo Veneziano. Antonio Vassilacchi, known as Aliense, painted several frescoes, while the high altar features an imposing gilded altarpiece containing ten wooden statues by Pietro Bussolo. The façade, still incomplete, was later embellished with a marble portal created by Tamagnino and Gasparo Cairano in 1509. The monumental cemetery, built on the opposite shore of the gulf, was designed by Rodolfo Vantini.
Civil architecture: The Palazzo del Podestà, once the seat of the council of the Magnifica Patria, now houses the municipality. Part of the building was rebuilt after 1901, the year a devastating earthquake brought the city to its knees. The 15th-century Palazzo Fantoni housed the Athenaeum of Salò, a branch of the ancient Accademia degli Unanimi. The civic theater, currently under renovation following a long period of neglect. The Palazzo Terzi-Martinengo in Barbarano was built by order of the Marquis Sforza Pallavicino, captain of the Republic of Venice. It has a large park with beautiful fountains. The palace is privately owned and therefore not open to visitors. The San Rocco lazaretto, built following a resolution of the General Council dated June 7, 1484.
Natural areas: The municipality of Salò is the most densely populated and inhabited in the Alto Garda Bresciano Park. Mount San Bartolomeo, which overlooks the city, is crisscrossed by nature and scenic trails leading to its summit.
