Monuments and places of interest
Castle: on the western part of the town there is the Moniga castle, a very well preserved late Romanesque structure. The castle was never inhabited by a lord but was a place of refuge for the Monigans in cases of danger. Having never been inhabited by a noble, it was never attacked and therefore managed to maintain its original appearance. Church of San Martino: The parish church is dedicated to San Martino. In ancient times it was a chapel that depended on the parish church of Manerba. On 13 October 1454 it was consecrated by bishop Ermolao Barbaro and named after the patron saint of the military, a cult introduced by the Franks. Church of Our Lady of the Snow: The church dedicated to the miracle that occurred in Rome, on the Esquiline Hill, on 5 August of the year 352, is in Romanesque style and was built during the 16th century. It is listed in the documents of the pastoral visit of Bishop Gian Matteo Giberti of the second half of the sixteenth century. The origin of the name Moniga del Garda is not certain.
