\nVittoriale degli Italiani, a monumental citadel built on the shores of Lake Garda as the home of the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio, who lived there from 1921 to 1938. Designed by architect Giancarlo Maroni, it has been a national monument since 1925, a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The Vittoriale extends over approximately nine hectares on the hills of Gardone Riviera in a panoramic position overlooking the lake.<\/p>\n
